What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen, with the cowboy Tumbleweed Jones, search the ghost town of Dead Man's Gulch for clues to a series of silver arrows, each engraved with a verse that points toward the next. After escaping a cave-in and freeing a bound stranger, they find a young woman named Mary Lewis tied to a chair in an abandoned house. She explains that she came to the town looking for something and was attacked in a cellar by an unseen man. Her silver arrow matches the three they already hold, and a warning note is found with a fourth arrow. The group decides to return to Tumbleweed's ranch to talk further.
