What happens
Clark Kent, Tumbleweed and young Jimmy Olsen search a deserted ghost town called Dead Man's Gulch for clues to a verse engraved on a silver arrow. At a stream they find a carved stone and a second silver arrow with a riddle about a cave where the dead rest. Tumbleweed recalls old buffalo bones in a cave near the hills, and local stories of strange sounds there. At dusk the three approach the cave while someone watches from the shadows, and the chapter ends with the trio trapped inside by a landslide.
