What happens
Superman is unconscious inside a cedar chest after the Scarlet Widow stole Kryptonite from the Metropolis Museum and left him trapped with a piece of it. The chest drifts ashore onto a sandbar, where a fisherman named Paul and his daughter Abby spot it. Paul is reluctant to risk the rip tide to rescue what he assumes is a worthless box, but Abby urges him on. Together they set out in a dory to reach the chest. The episode is part nine of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on October 8, 1945.
