What happens
Superman, in his guise as reporter Clark Kent, works to track down a stolen fragment of kryptonite, the only substance that weakens him. The Scarlet Widow, a dangerous criminal mastermind, has taken it from the Metropolis Museum through her henchman Snickers. Meanwhile four notorious enemies of Superman, the Vulture, Papa Roush, Tarkle and the Laffer, have mysteriously been freed from prison and gathered at the Widow's penthouse. Part 5 of the 1945 serial The Adventures of Superman, first aired October 2, 1945, follows the Widow as she makes them an offer. Clark tries to warn Captain Donovan of the danger, but the captain doubts him.
