What happens

Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet, is sent to San Miguel Penitentiary to cover a story while his colleague Lois Lane is already touring the prison. Meanwhile, the convict Kino and a dangerous figure known as the Wolf plot a breakout planned for the dining hall after supper. Clark drives toward the prison but is stopped by police at a roadblock, and he hurries on in a dash that leaves the pursuing officers far behind. The story is part of The Adventures of Superman, a transcription feature, and this episode first aired on 1940-03-18.

The Daily Planet offices, a country road toward San Miguel Penitentiary, and the prison itself during a riot.

Characters: Clark Kent, Perry White, Lois Lane, Kino, The Wolf, The Warden, Doyle, Clancy

Listen for: Listen for the sirens and bells that signal the prison riot, and for Superman's arrival over the walls.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
