What happens
Clark Kent and Inspector Henderson trace a phone call to Zara's hideout, where Zara, a fortune teller and racketeer, has trapped Lois Lane and Miss Louisa. Superman arrives and frees them. Afterward, Lois returns to the Daily Planet, where editor Perry White receives a telegram from a local correspondent refusing an assignment in Freeville, the third such resignation in as many days. White is baffled by the drought story and the strange refusals. Lois insists on handling the Freeville story herself and sets out to investigate.
