What happens

Lois Lane, a reporter for the Metropolis Daily Planet, receives a letter informing her that a late uncle has left her one and a half million dollars in diamond mine shares. Clark Kent doubts the news, and the letter turns out to have been delivered to her by mistake, meant for a different Louise Lane. Lois visits the address on 72nd Street, where a sweet-faced seamstress named Miss Louise Elaine lives. Miss Louise claims to know the contents of the letter before reading it, and then recites it word for word. Lois is astonished by this. The episode is part one of a two-part serial in The Adventures of Superman, first aired on January 9, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
