What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen work at the Daily Planet while editor Perry White is held by the racketeer Nielsen, who has threatened White's life unless the paper drops its campaign against a housing racket. Art Duncan, a veteran, comes to the newspaper after buying a lot in Bunker Heights from a man named Miller, who took a deposit of $1,500 for it. Kent and Duncan go to the county clerk's office and find that the land is registered to an owner named James Michu, a name Duncan recognizes from a friend's remark. Kent believes this may lead him to Perry White, and he and Duncan set out to see Miller. The episode ends with Miller leaving his office in a hurry after a phone call.
Metropolis, including the Daily Planet offices, the county clerk's office and Bunker Heights
Characters: Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, Nielsen, Art Duncan, Frank Miller
Listen for: The county clerk's records showing James Michu as owner of the Bunker Heights land, and Miller's hurried exit after his call
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
