What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen are searching for Perry White, editor of the Daily Planet, who has vanished after returning home from police headquarters. Poco, the cook, reports that White's car is in the garage and that his radiator is cold, and Clark finds signs of a struggle and tracks showing someone was dragged to a car on the lawn. Superman searches the highways around the suburb without success. Back at the house, Clark, Jimmy and Sheriff Johnson discuss the racket the Planet has been exposing, and Clark suspects the racketeers are responsible. A caller then speaks to Clark, claiming White is alive but that his safety depends on cooperation, before the line goes dead.
