What happens
Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Horatio Horn investigate reports of a sea monster off the Canadian village of St. Selmo, where local fishermen believe the creature is supernatural. After their boat is capsized, Superman rescues them and searches the ocean for the creature. Lois and Horatio see it near the beach before it dives beneath the surface. The villagers grow frightened, and fisherman Mr. Barnaby urges the visitors to leave. Clark seeks help from the mayor and then takes a boat out onto the fishing banks at night, accompanied by Lois and Horatio. There, two red lights appear in the fog, and the monster breathes fire at the boat. The episode is part five of the serial The Phantom of the Sea, from the radio series The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on May 2, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
