What happens

Clark Kent, star reporter for the Daily Planet, and his editor Perry White drive at night to a hidden spot in the woods outside Metropolis. There they board a new stratosphere plane being tested in secret for a survey of the Andes Mountains. Two American engineering expeditions have vanished in those mountains, and Washington is anxious about a third party that has also lost contact. When the plane's radio picks up a Washington call to the third expedition, White insists on answering, and the group is ordered to proceed to Washington at once. This is the first part of a serial in the Adventures of Superman series, first broadcast on November 14, 1941.

Metropolis and the Andes Mountains region, with a secret stratosphere plane and the Hemisphere Administration Building in Washington

Characters: Clark Kent, Perry White, Lois Lane, Bronson, John Ives

Listen for: The radio call to the third expedition, G33, and the order for Clark Kent to proceed to Washington

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
