What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen are held at gunpoint in a foreign agent's cabin aboard a ship carrying nitrates from Panama to the United States. With them are Dr. Michael Barrington and his daughter June. The agent has ordered the ship sunk at midnight, leaving no survivors. Kent weighs revealing his double identity to save everyone on board. Meanwhile, Pug Flanagan, who slipped away from the cabin, climbs up the outside of the ship with a rope to look for the captives. The episode ends with a rope cut and a figure in the sea, and it does not resolve the story. The series is The Adventures of Superman, first aired May 7, 1941.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
