What happens
Clark Kent, a reporter disguised as the mild-mannered alter ego of Superman, is in the police line-up room questioning a captured thug, Lucio, about who hired him to steal a statue containing a revolutionary explosive formula. Lucio claims a tall, thin man with a small mustache hired him, and Kent suspects this is the same man who impersonated Dr. Squares. Meanwhile, Kent joins Inspector Callahan's men as the formula is handed to the armored car driver, Carrigan, who is ordered to carry it to the proper authorities. Japanese agents have arranged an ambush at a dark intersection, where a truck is positioned to force the armored car off the road. The episode ends with the armored car overturned and its outcome uncertain. The series is The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on 1942-12-03.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
