What happens
Superman confronts a 10-foot steel robot, the mechanical man, that has been driven from the laboratory of Wallace Thornton and is approaching an orphanage full of children. Clark Kent must decide whether to reveal his identity while Lois Lane watches nearby. The robot suddenly grows propellers and flies, and Superman pursues it through the sky and brings it down. Afterward, the villain known as the yellow mask reads about the destruction in the newspaper and plans to spread fear across the country. Lois Lane then learns from Clark Kent about a secret service investigation into a foreign spy ring based in the Montgomery Apartments.
