What happens
Clark Kent and Lois Lane investigate the disappearance of Bucky Taylor, a young war orphan who was booked on a liner bound for America. Captain Barker reports that the boy boarded at Plymouth but was never found aboard. In Bucky's cabin, the luggage has been torn apart, but Clark finds a folded slip of paper hidden inside the typewriter roller. It bears a name and an address, 25 Rue Fontenac, which may point to a location in France. The series is The Adventures of Superman, and this installment aired on March 19, 1947.
A transatlantic liner in the Atlantic Ocean and its captain's cabin, with a later scene in a city street, after the ship's arrival in America.
Characters: Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Captain Barker, Bucky Taylor, Perry White, Hobie Taylor
Listen for: Clark Kent's remark that he knew the state of the cabin before the door was opened, and the name and address read from the hidden paper.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
