What happens
Clark Kent and Lois Lane are campaigning with editor Perry White and former assistant district attorney Ralph Renson to oust District Attorney Parker from office. An invisible man, whose voice warns them off, has already tried to blow up the Daily Planet. When the mayor withdraws his support after a phone call about a family accident, the group searches his office and finds a hidden eavesdropping device. Kent is revealed as having been on a fire escape, and the others resolve to press on. Parker then hires the invisible man to stop the campaign by targeting White and Lane as they drive to the governor's mansion, about 140 miles away.
