What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen investigate a fire at a drugstore on Morton Street in Metropolis after a newsboy named Danny O'Neill reports seeing two men start it. Danny recognizes one of them as a tough youth called Mugs, and he fears retaliation for speaking to the newspaper. Clark and Jimmy promise to keep his name out of print and arrange for him to stay home from school. That evening Clark receives a call that Jimmy has been taken to the hospital, and he changes into his Superman costume to go to him. This is the first part of a two-part story, from The Adventures of Superman radio series. Broadcast on April 16, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
