What happens
Clark Kent and his editor Perry White answer an urgent summons from Dr. Chi Wan, a scholar and collector of Oriental art, in the Chinese section of the city after dark. Before they reach his apartment, someone throws a knife at them in a dark hallway. Dr. Wan explains that a three-thousand-year-old manuscript he found in western China describes nine carved jade dragon's teeth which, when combined with ten herbs and ground into powder, are said to free the human body from disease forever. He believes a dealer named Walter Huffman wants the jade, and he asks the two men to carry the box of pieces to a museum professor should anything happen to him. The episode is the first part of a serial and ends on an unsettling note.
