What happens
Clark Kent and Professor Thorpe aboard the Juanita learn that a rival, Pete Escobar, is also after the treasure, and Kent devises a plan. Captain Maddox takes Wolf Cleland's place and, with Kent, goes to the Paradise Cafe to meet Escobar and offer their services. Kent poses as a deep sea diver and is taken into Escobar's confidence, learning that the target is a sunken gold cargo at the bottom of Octopus Bay. Later, Escobar's gang plans to seize the ship, and Professor Thorpe reveals his long-hidden reason for seeking the gold. This episode of The Adventures of Superman, first aired on August 30, 1940, finds the crew facing an armed launch approaching in the darkness.
