What happens
Superman, disguised as the reporter Clark Kent, joins Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and the eccentric explorer Dr. Leander Cameron on an expedition to find the lost continent of Atlantis, believed to lie at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Their multi-depth submarine begins to submerge, but a fault in the main ballast tank leaves the vessel sinking and unable to surface. Dr. Cameron and the crew work out an escape through a sealed chamber, while tension rises among the men. The episode ends with the submarine surfacing at dusk beside a German U-boat whose crew is preparing to fire on them. The series is The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on December 14, 1942.
