What happens
Batman and Robin face a slowly descending steel ceiling in a basement room at a bogus sanitarium, the headquarters of the Crescent and Star Gang. Superman, who has been tracking a shortwave radio signal from a nightclub, arrives and lifts the ceiling to free them. The heroes subdue the gang members on the premises. Superman and the gang's number two man, Mr. Smith, then open a hidden vault in the conference room, which turns out to be empty. The gang's records, and the trail they might have led to the Scarlet Widow and the stolen Kryptonite, are gone. This is part 12 of The Adventures of Superman, originally broadcast on December 19, 1945.
