What happens
Clark Kent works with Inspector Henderson at the Golden Lily Night Club, where they find a short-wave transmitter hooked to a phonograph that plays a song. Kent believes the record is beaming a signal to the Crescent and Star mob, the criminal group that holds Batman and Robin. Henderson doubts the theory as the minutes pass without a call. Meanwhile, the mob's leader, Mr. Jones, learns that Patsy is dead and that someone is apparently answering the signal from the club. Batman and Robin remain trapped in a room where a steel ceiling is slowly lowering toward them. This episode is part eleven of the Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on December 18, 1945.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
