What happens
Superman, disguised as Clark Kent, is away rescuing the crews of two colliding tankers when the old clipper ship Clara M. is wrecked by fire and explosions. Captain Scotty McTavish and the young crewman Colin remain aboard as the ship sinks, while the radio operator sends out distress calls that go unanswered for a time. Lymie and Barnaby, who had earlier left the Clara M. in a lifeboat carrying a treasure map, are found dead or dying in their boat. Superman returns to the sinking ship at dawn and carries the survivors to safety.
