What happens
Clark Kent and his young companion Jimmy set out to sail around the world aboard the clipper ship Clara M, a publicity voyage for the Daily Planet, where Kent is to write articles on the ship's romantic past. Before sailing, editor White tells Kent what is expected of him, and the owner, Mr. Barwick, plans to turn the ship into a museum afterward. Meanwhile a man named T.C. Barnaby, with a wooden leg, tries to buy the Clara M and is refused. At the docks, the crew they expected will not sign on once they hear the ship's name, and Captain Hawkins seems troubled. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as a new first mate joins the ship.
