What happens
Clark Kent and Inspector Henderson of the Metropolis Police investigate the attack on Governor Wheeler at the governor's mansion. Wheeler has been struck unconscious in the side drive, and a group of angry war veterans who had been protesting outside are being held. Political boss George Latimer insists the veterans are to blame and gives his account of events. Kent reveals he had planted a hidden microphone in the library and suspects Latimer learned of it through the governor's secretary, Briggs. When the governor briefly regains consciousness, he asks to speak with Kent and the inspector. The episode is part 15 of The Adventures of Superman, originally broadcast on September 23, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
