What happens
Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet, helps the elderly inventor Dr. Walter Roebling repair his voice machine after his vengeful nephew smashed it with a crowbar. Once the machine works again, Kent and Roebling use it to pick up sounds from the past and then from the present. In the city, they overhear a gang plotting against a man named Benson, who is already in jail. The episode is part eight of the 1941 Adventures of Superman serial, first aired August 13, 1941. Its closing moments see Kent taken into custody by the police.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
