What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen have freed Professor Julius Browning, a radiology expert, from a dungeon on Volcano Island, where Dr. Deutsch forced him to run the radium mines. On the island, Deutsch lures ships onto Dead Man's Reef by moving the channel lights, then sinks the wrecks so no evidence remains. Clark witnesses a near-wreck that is averted by a mysterious force, and the trio hides in the tunnels. Clark plans to find Deutsch's central office and listen in on his plans. Deutsch learns the ship escaped and increases the miners' hours. The episode ends with Deutsch ordering the air pumped out of tunnel number seven, where the trio is hiding.
