What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen, with Jimmy's dog Storm, are trapped on Volcano Island after seeing a plane disappear into a hollow volcano through a stone door that swings open. Clark investigates alone and is captured by Dr. Deutsch's henchman, while Jimmy waits hidden as instructed. Meanwhile, at the naval base on the mainland, Commander Leeds searches for Deutsch and his accomplice Hans, and Lewis, a secret service man, asks to work on his own. Clark later finds Jimmy locked in a cell inside Deutsch's underground headquarters. The two sneak through tunnels, where they discover a large crew of chained men digging by torchlight. This is part five of The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on June 4, 1941.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
