What happens
Lois Lane, a reporter for the Daily Planet, is held in the city jail on a murder charge because her face closely resembles that of Dixie Lamar, a member of a confidence ring. Clark Kent and Perry White visit her and question her about the evening, which she cannot fully recall. Lois remembers a trip to the amusement park, a dark tunnel, and a man named Mr. Hemingway, but her account has gaps. Meanwhile Batman investigates the River of Horrors ride, where he finds Joe Hanson, its owner, tied up in a phony lighthouse. Clark returns to the park to meet Batman, who reports that Hanson had begun to talk before he was silenced. The episode is from The Adventures of Superman, first broadcast on September 14, 1945.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
