What happens
Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet, learns from young copy boy Jimmy Olsen that Jimmy's widowed mother is being pressured to pay twenty dollars a week in protection money to a racketeer named Danelli. Clark agrees to help and goes to the candy store on Spruce Street, where he confronts Danelli's collector when he arrives. The collector responds with threats and a punch, and Clark is left shaken but determined to recover the money and stop the extortion. The episode ends with Danelli's henchmen planning a new move against the store and its owner.
