What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen travel to an oil field after Tumbleweed Jones, a former friend, writes to them asking for legal help. Tumbleweed struck oil on his land and has bought three oil trucks to carry his crude to the refinery, rather than selling through the local oil association run by Mr. Cheney. Cheney controls the only pipeline and railroad spur in the area, and several oil men have already joined his association. Clark and Jimmy meet Tumbleweed and his associates, who tell them about the association's pressure on the independent producers. As they ride toward Tumbleweed's wells, they hear rifle shots ahead, and the episode ends with them heading into trouble at the oil field.
