What happens
Mary Henig, a teenage girl working at the Daily Planet, has struck Lois Lane on the head during a struggle over stolen letters, and believes Lois is dead. Mary calls Al Vincent, the pawnbroker who hired her, while Lois lies unconscious on the office floor. Clark Kent questions Mary's mother about her daughter's whereabouts and recent behavior in their tenement home, and then leaves to find Mary. Meanwhile Vincent's men arrive to deal with the situation, and Jim Olsen walks into the deserted office looking for Lois. The episode, from the Adventures of Superman radio series, first aired on May 31, 1946, and this part ends with Jim approaching the dark office as the thugs and Mary wait.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
