What happens
Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen travel to a mass meeting in Park Square, where Lois is to speak for District Attorney Henry Marshall in his campaign for mayor of Metropolis against Martin Higgins. Lois has received a threatening phone call warning her to stay away, but she refuses to be frightened off. At the square, the crowd is large and the atmosphere tense. Elsewhere, in a smoke-filled office above a saloon, Joe Keenan and pawnshop owner Al Vincent discuss Higgins's troubles. Letters from Higgins's office may have reached the Daily Planet, and Al proposes a plan to recover them. This episode is the first part of a multi-part Superman story from the series The Adventures of Superman, first aired on May 21, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
