What happens

In 1953 in Crescent City, California, high school principal Charles Tunan and his friend Don Clossen, a former World War II pilot known as California's Flying Congressman, propose teaching flight to students. Starting as an unofficial flying club run through the local airport, the program shows that students' grades in math and physics improve as their interest in aviation grows. Lumberman Don McMillan then donates a Piper Super Cub, and the school adds aviation to its official curriculum. This Stories Pacific Powerland episode, first aired on October 17, 1966, follows how Del Norte County High School builds its aviation program.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
