What happens

Commander Buzz Corry and Cadet Happy investigate the escape of Balmer Castro, a criminal whose brain has been enhanced by a brain sensitizer, while a race between the experimental XK-3 and the Atlas spaceships is underway from Pluto to Neptune. Corry and Happy patrol the race course and learn that Castro is a gambler who has reportedly been wagering against the XK-3. Happy later spots a man in a spacesuit drifting away from the XK-3's path, and the pair chase him down and bring him aboard the Terra 5.

Outer space, aboard the Space Patrol ship Terra 5, at Space Patrol headquarters, and along the race vector between Pluto and Neptune, on the planet Mars and Pluto's test base.

Characters: Buzz Corry, Happy, Balmer Castro, Grant Halcorn

Listen for: Listen for the tension when Corry and Happy first find the spacesuited man and for Halcorn's deliberately cagey answers about who hired him.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
