What happens

Commander Corey and Buzz investigate a series of valuable gem thefts across the solar system, and the thefts appear to follow a pattern tied to dealers who have shown rare jewels to a particular collector. Corey and Buzz trace the disappearances to a man named James Kent, a dignified collector who examines stones privately, and to his companion Ferris. The pair are shown experimenting with a machine that can duplicate gems atom by atom, and Corey and Buzz gradually piece together how the originals are being replaced with copies that vanish. The investigation takes the space patrol from Earth's Terra Gem Company to Jupiter City and into a dining room at the Hotel Polaris, where Commander Corey meets a man calling himself Arnold Bloch.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
