What happens

A fugitive named Duke Farsen, pursued through the woods, forces his way into the laboratory of a professor who has developed a serum that heals wounds almost instantly. Farsen takes a dose of the serum and becomes unkillable, and he sets out to take control of the criminal underworld. Over time, however, he begins to suffer maddening attacks of amplified sound, and he seeks a way out. The story is part of the Sealed Book series, told by its keeper from an ancient volume of strange tales.

A desolate countryside, a professor's laboratory, a prison execution chamber, and a city underworld hideout during the late 1940s.

Characters: Duke Farsen, Professor, Joe, Mike, Williams, Caesar

Listen for: The growing, pounding sound that torments Duke Farsen and the scene where he is strapped into the electric chair.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
