What happens
Screen Guild Theater's final show of the season, a review program broadcast on June 4, 1939 for the Motion Picture Relief Fund, sees host George Murphy and Dick Powell perform a mock English music-hall routine and a double-talk song. Marie Wilson is introduced as a woman seeking a dream man, and she and Lionel Stander, a self-declared woman-hater, trade insults in a comic exchange. Rosalind Russell tells tall tales about London fog, and Tyrone Power joins the banter. Gene Herschel then addresses the Relief Fund's goals for a home for retired film workers, and Dick Powell closes with a musical number.
A Gulf Oil-sponsored radio variety program broadcast from a studio, presented as a review of the season's Screen Guild shows.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
