What happens
Swifty Miller, a small-time gambling operator, runs a rigged slot-machine racket with his partner Blutch and his associate Clark. After the district attorney shuts down their other operations, Swifty buys a shoe store to serve as a cover for a back-room game. A customer named Mr. Moffey, who insists on a size nine, is sold a pair of shoes that are far too small, and his tight shoes come to shape his mood and his fortunes. The story follows Swifty through a series of reversals in a town of gangsters, politics and romance. Red Skelton stars as Swifty Miller, with Lucille Ball and George Tobias in the cast, in this comedy adapted from a Damon Runyon story for the Screen Guild Theater.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
