What happens

Michael Dobbs, a painter, discovers that the best-selling novelist Carolyn Adams is really Theodora Lynn, a shy small-town woman from Linfield, Connecticut. When he visits her there, posing as a gardener, Theodora begins to find her own voice and to question the narrow life she has been living. Carolyn Adams, Theodora Lynn and Michael Dobbs are the main characters. This Screen Guild Theater broadcast of November 29, 1943, adapts the Columbia Pictures film, with Irene Dunne as Theodora, Cary Grant as Michael and Hanley Stafford as Arthur Stevenson.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
