What happens

During the Irish troubles, Jip-o Nolan, a hulking and destitute man, is tempted by a reward of twenty pounds offered for the capture of his friend Frankie McPhilip, who is wanted for sedition against the British crown. Frankie is killed by the Tans, and Jip-o, drunk and confused, spends money freely afterward. Dan Gallagher and Bartley Mulholland of the revolutionary organization begin to suspect that a traitor has betrayed Frankie and come after Jip-o. This Screen Guild Theater broadcast of July 10, 1944 stars Charles Bickford, Wallace Ford, Reginald Denny and Isabelle Jewell, adapted from John Ford's film The Informer.

Dublin, Ireland, during the Irish troubles, in the fog-bound streets near the waterfront

Listen for: Jip-o's drunken confession and his growing guilt as the organization closes in on him

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
