What happens

Gwen Marlowe and Ernest Lane, the stars of the Broadway hit Sweethearts, are celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary with a quiet dinner away from their producer, Felix Lehman. Felix, who wants them to attend a party in their honor, is upset when they refuse. Meanwhile Hollywood producer Norman Trumpet has offered the couple contracts in California. Lady Esther's Screen Guild Theater presents this adaptation of Victor Herbert's operetta, with Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy in the original roles, as broadcast on March 25, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
