What happens
Lena Aesgarth believes her new husband, Johnny Aesgarth, intends to murder her. Soon after their runaway marriage she learns he is a gambler with no money of his own, and his friend Biki Thwaite becomes a regular visitor to their home. Johnny is then dismissed from his job for embezzlement. Lena's fears grow as Johnny pushes a scheme that will leave the company, and Biki's money, in his own hands. This is the Screen Guild Theater's radio adaptation of the 1943 film Suspicion, broadcast on January 4, 1943, with Joan Fontaine as Lena, Basil Rathbone as Johnny and Nigel Bruce as Biki. Basil Rathbone took over Johnny's role on short notice after the scheduled actor fell ill.
England, in the countryside and the Aesgarth home, with a visit to London and a trip to the races.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
