What happens

Alan Merrick, a San Francisco advertising man, sails to Honolulu hoping to win a merger with William Williams, but he finds himself struggling to keep his business and his heart on course. When he unexpectedly meets Diana Hartley, the niece of his prospective partner, a series of mix-ups begins on the ship. Diana and Alan trade quips and awkward moments while Captain Winterpawson tries to help him. The radio adaptation, a comedy by Robert Riley Crutcher drawn from John McClain's Cosmopolitan story Single Crossing, was broadcast on the Screen Guild Theater on February 11, 1940, with Myrna Loy and Jimmy Stewart in the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
