What happens

On the French liner in 1938, Kay Denham tells Bert Sudhy she will not marry him, and then she meets the novelist Dean Andrews and his companion George Potter in a Paris cafe. The three of them spend the evening together and the two men soon find themselves competing for her attention. Their rivalry carries them from Paris to a snowy Swiss resort, where George grows increasingly uneasy about Dean and Kay's friendship and about secrets he holds. The Screen Guild Theater broadcast of February 4, 1940 presents the romantic comedy with Melvin Douglas, Anne Southern and Robert Young as the leads, and Roger Pryor hosting. The story follows Kay as she weighs the proposals and interference of the two men.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
