What happens
Josie Winters, a miner's daughter in a coal town, travels in a limousine with Pittsburgh Markham and Cash Evans, two young miners who dream of getting ahead. Pittsburgh and Cash begin a business venture, and Josie, who wants to escape the mines, is persuaded to stay with them as their partner. The three friends push to rise above the hardships of the coal mines, and Josie chooses to remain close to Pittsburgh despite her own plans. Their early hopes and the pressures of their new ambitions set the story in motion.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
