What happens
Jean Holland, a saleswoman for her father's oil-supply firm, is stranded in Clayfield with no room for the night. She tricks Lieutenant Don Mallory into posing as her husband to secure a room at the Colonial Auto Court, which only rents to army officers and their wives. Their pretense quickly grows tangled as Don's commanding officer, Colonel Utley, arrives and Jean's father and Don's mother unexpectedly appear. This is Pillow to Post, an episode of Screen Guild Theater first broadcast on December 31, 1945, starring Ida Lupino as Jean and John Payne as Don.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
