What happens
Ruth Sherwood and her younger sister Eileen move from Columbus, Ohio, to New York City to pursue writing and acting. They rent a cheap basement apartment in Greenwich Village from the landlord Mr. Apopolis, and the sisters find the place noisy, dusty and disruptive, with subway blasting and passersby at the window. Ruth searches for work at a magazine, where the editor Mr. Baker is dismissive, while a series of visitors and mishaps complicate their first days in the city. This is the Screen Guild Theater's 1943 radio presentation of the Columbia Pictures comedy My Sister Eileen, broadcast on October 18, 1943, starring Rosalind Russell as Ruth and Janet Blair as Eileen.
New York City, mainly a basement apartment in Greenwich Village and a magazine office

Listen for: The landlord's claims about the apartment and the subway blasting that disrupts the sisters' first nights
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
