What happens
Michael Rowe, a young writer, meets Mary Weston in the British Museum in 1905, and the two grow close after she is left alone and penniless. Mary is in fact still married to Harry Price, a man who abandoned her, and Michael and Mary decide to live together as husband and wife. Their life is peaceful for years, until Harry turns up at their home demanding money. This episode of Screen Guild Theater, first broadcast on October 21, 1946, stars Anne Todd and Herbert Marshall. The story is built around a tense confrontation in Michael's flat, where Harry's visit leads to a dramatic event that the police must investigate.
London, England, beginning in 1905 at the British Museum and continuing through the following decades to Michael's flat.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
