What happens
Theo and Tom marry quickly in Boston after a brief courtship, and Theo begins to doubt whether she knows her new husband at all. Tom is an engineer working on rangefinders for the war effort, and his family's expectations and the strain of his work begin to press on their marriage. Theo's mother disapproves, and Theo finds herself uncertain about her feelings and her place in Tom's world. The episode is adapted from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film of the same name and is part of the Screen Guild Theater series, broadcast on June 17, 1946, with Lana Turner and John Hodiak in the leading roles.
Boston, Massachusetts, in the years after the Second World War, with scenes in a nightclub, a hotel, the couple's home, and Tom's factory office.

Listen for: Theo's uncertainty about whether she really knows Tom, and the growing tension between them as his work and family pull him away.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
